General Information

The International Interdisciplinary Conference on Hypertension and Related Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Ethnic Populations, held annually since 1985, offers the latest research on, and practical approaches to, the prevention, treatment, and control of cardiovascular diseases. The conference attracts recognized lecturers and an audience of international health professionals who gather to learn from each other, debate the utility of current medical practice and theory, present exciting new research, and continue to build solutions for eliminating the disproportionate rates of cardiovascular disease in ethnic minority populations.

Speakers at past conferences have included nationally renowned physicians and scientists; U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, U.S. Surgeon General, Director-Center for Disease Control, British Chief Medical Officer and other top government and non-government officials; and representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Scientists engaged in the most promising research worldwide have presented more than 2,000 new research findings to doctors and other health professionals at the annual conferences.
